New Mexican Santario Painted Chest

A very rare Northern Mexico (including what is now New Mexico) chest with the unique feature of a painted interior lid. The painting is clearly the work of a New Mexican Santerio artist. The outer covering is of a hide and features beautiful decorated wrought iron hardware. Normal wear from generations of use, some outer hide losses, lovely patina on ironwork as expected. This would be a treasured addition to any Northern New Mexican furniture collection.
