The inked description on the bottom reads, "110650. Acoma N.M. Stevenson. Bur. Ethnol."  The vessel was broken and reglued, but no attempt has been made to hide the cracks.  It is very usual to find an Acoma soup bowl to be decorated in the interior as well as the exterior surface.  The designs are closely associated with bowls from the early contact period.  The bowl has been display mounted to show the bottom with the Stevenson’s inscription.  Custom art base included.
